Make It Fun

One of my goals in starting Relus Technologies has been to create an exceptional work environment.   Last year, we were named one of the best places to work in Atlanta, so I think we are well on our way to that goal.   We created an industry-leading compensation plan for our Infrastructure, Cloud, and Staffing teams, which undoubtedly has more upside than most plans in our space. But, for 2015, we have added a few new things to our sales compensation plan to ensure we retain our best employees and attract more team members with great skills.

Last week, we met at WhirlyBall Atlanta for our sales kickoff. If you haven’t played WhirlyBall, I suggest wearing knee pads (if you’re tall) and a neck brace. It is a hilarious game involving bumper cars and a plastic whiffle ball.

First off, we are announcing an incentive trip for all sales reps who achieve their quota.   Yes – not just the top few, but every rep who achieves quota. This is a great chance for employees to get together outside of the office and recognize the prior years’ achievements. Sun, surf, and celebration await the sales people and their guests.

Next, I’m excited to see how many of our team members have an opportunity to win our $10,000 shopping spree during the trip. There is only one rule: they must spend it all during our quota trip.

During the year, members of our Hitter’s Club receive access to our Hitter’s lounge. Massage chairs, a stocked fridge, TV remote control access, video games, and a plethora of reading material are only some of the things they can enjoy as they take a small break. It is an exclusive area for our top performers.

We promote, embrace, and reward teamwork at Relus. It’s discussed in all of our managers meetings and is very important to me. In our most successful engagements with clients, teamwork is at the heart of the solution. Therefore, we have announced incentives to find opportunities for sales individuals and to identify talented team members.

Stand Up Desks & Aeron Chairs

Stand up desks are the norm here at Relus. We have a young, energetic team that is focused on health, activity, and improvement – I love that. We even have weekly Yoga classes.   But, our teams have the luxury of sitting in high-end Aeron Chairs as long as they’re on top of their game. It’s a status symbol around here to have one of our luxury chairs, creating healthy competition!
